Stories from Friday and a movie recommendation

So I met with a friend for dinner... We went to a fairly new place in Bigger Town. One we wanted to try but that we'd heard bad and good critics. To my surprise and his too, I believe it was very good and affordable. My friend's Baby Back Ribs were tasty. mrgreen Anyway, it was good, the place was clean, waitress nice, food yummy and the freaking brownies was to die for. I wasn't able to finish it. biggrin

We went shopping, took our time and went to the late representation of Micheal Clayton featuring the handsome and talented George Clooney. Go and see it, the movie's good, the moral of the story is nice, George is HOT. ::::drool::::

I need to stop by the retail store because I bought 5 items last night and she only packed one of them, the cat food. The rest, including 3 greeting cards (2 of which are for tomorrow) and a candle were forgotten by the cashier. rolleyes I called this morning, started to explain and the lady said " Yup, we've got the stuff, just stop by the customer service's office and you'll get your things, we are sorry". It's okay, people forget, cashiers are human beings. I never realise it before midnight when I got home. The bad was heavy because of the cat food, I thought the rest was there. So I'll stop by later this afternoon on my way to dinner and attending the mass where my friend, The Seminarian will be doing the homily.

On my quest to find this tea (It's SW and I's favorite tea) , which I didn't find in the 5-6 places I went cry, I did buy 2 boxes (one for me, one for TFB and SW) of this desert tea by celestial seasonings and it's very very very good. I could order online from Celestial Seasonings but I don't do FedEx or UPS, I've got issues with them and they can't deliver with USPS. rolleyes

So that's my slice of life. What are you doing this weekend?

A more serious entry about rape...

I was reading college callgirl's blog entry few minutes ago titled " The number is Eight", she is referring to a post on Jezebel titled "How To Rape 100 (Cute, Educated, Upper Middle-Class) Women And Get Away With It". This creep needs a good kick in the ass.

The right to say no is never to be tampered with. No means "NO". Go read these two links, discuss it here or there if you want but discuss it. If any of you needs help RAINN (Rape Abuse and Incest National Network) or call 1-800-656-HOPE. In Canada you can reach "No means No".

So this is my PSA of the day. Visit these two place, discuss, get help, speak up!!! Thanks to college callgirl for doing so!

As of thursday october 11th 2007

I haven't heard anything from Big Multinational Company but that's okay, I'm good at waiting. lol I have kept busy today and yesterday, helped a friend with some translation work. Which was very nice to do. So tomorrow I'll just relax, act like I'm on vacation. mrgreen

On Saturday, TYP and other friends are going to attend a mass where our friend, The Seminarian is going to do the homily (because he's studying to become a catholic priest) and we are going to show him our support. smile I know you are reading this, so give me a call if you want to do something tomorrow night. mrgreen

So Fishy is at my friend's house, he's hopefully going to thrive soon. Sweet Wife's (SW) fish, who's new name is Spiderman is at our friend's SIL's house. My former fish doesn't have a name I think.confused While we wait to know his name, we'll keep on referring to him as Fishy ok? lol Thanks to friend's SIL for adopting Spiderman.

So all is good, everyone around me is good but I'd like to know how you guys are doing? Whacha going to do tomorrow? TGIF!!!! cool

Prayers, thoughts, vibes, whatever for the job please! smile

Thirteen things in the last week...

I'm relating many events from the past week and updating you all on my life.mrgreen

1. Last Friday, I went for my second interview with Big Multinational Company. It went well, I'm waiting to hear from them.

2. I got a Betta fish on Thursday. I went to a cocktail, their table's decoration consisted of Beta fish in bowls and when people left, we were asked to take one home or they'll flush them in the toilet.rolleyes

3. I found an adoptive mom for Fishy on Wednesday.

4. We celebrated the closing mass of the Parish Anniversary on Sunday.

5. I came close of being a fish killer.

6. I've heard myself say many times to Mr.Cat: "Nope dude, we do not kill members of the family."

7. I was able to let go on the job thingy on Tuesday.

8. I was in church for the closing mass but didn't listen to the gospel, the sermon or took Holy Communion. I was at the door welcoming the visitors from the cruise ships.

9. Someone told me how precious I am and how much of a privilege it is to work with me. I almost cried...

10. I debated religion with friends on Friday. I should know better than getting my panties in a wad every time eh?!

11. I want to punch this sick fuck! A 55 years old man from Montreal is accused of child abuse but says that it's irrelevant to know whether he had sexual intercourse with the 10 years old girl because he married her in Quebec. Sick fuck! I have no sympathy, compassion for pedophile. I don't care what anyone thinks, they are scum!

12. I had a bad cold and sore throat in the past week. I'm feeling much better now, my voice still sounds weird but the rest is pretty much back to normal.

13. I ate at my friend's house a lot in the past 2 weeks. Lots of good meals and fun times. I also had lots of "mommy" meals. (Things you don't normally cook for yourself when you live alone) Thanks to those who invited me.

I found an adoptive mom for my fish!

lol Yup, I found Fishy a new mom and a new home. He's moving out tomorrow. I was with a friend today and came the topic of my blog and Fishy and she offered to take him. How fantastic is that? I also pushed the adoption of SW's fish. I knew she didn't really want him, she, like me was stuck with it, and because it's alive, you can't just flush it down the toilet! You can but you are cruel, really cruel.

So TFB and SW are really happy, they know the adoptive mom well. biggrin I called and said "I found an adoptive mom for your fish and mine if you want". If she wanted? She was making moving out arrangement for tomorrow. lol Yeah, we are silly!!! mrgreen

Because I've let go last night and it made me feel 100% better, I totally focused on something else today and helped a friend and we'll finish tomorrow. Meanwhile, no news from Big Multinational Company but as we say in french "Pas de nouvelles, bonnes nouvelles" or " No news is good news".

So that's it, I need to do my Thursday Thirteen!!!! eek

Life has strange ways to teach us...

I say Life, but you can insert "God" or "The Universe" or whatever suits best your beliefs (or lack thereof). I was answering a friend's email late this evening (I was in a meeting until 22h45) and it dawned on me that I finally let go on the job. Dude, that's great!! Whatever happen, I did everything I could, put my heart into it. You know, I thought I'd let go on Friday but this evening was the final straw that resolved and put my mind at peace/ease and it helped my act of letting go.

There are people who I believe are put on your road for a reason. I've always believed this, but every time something happens to make me *remember*, it makes me smile. It's like the wink of God! mrgreen Tonight was one of the nights I realised it all over again. Do you know what I mean? Does any of this relates to any of you?

I did email the person back not long ago to say

"Thank you so much, what you said helped a lot, it eased/reassured something in my unconscious because I've let go, and it was time to. You've got a way to speak to me that makes me *get* what you mean and move on. You've got it! I don't know why or how, but you do. You always are able to reach me to the level needed. You get through me so easily, just that, by itself alone is something good."

Dude, I'm a Work In Progress. So that's my update, my own little slice of life. Other than that I was in a meeting all evening and before that, had dinner with a friend. What are you up to? How's your week? Come on, let me know! mrgreen

It's Thanksgiving and we don't celebrate it here...

I'm sorry, I can't explain to you why it's not celebrated in this french part of Canada. wink The Cute Friend and AF are celebrating BUT he's an anglophone. lol So not the same thing. I am getting close to my thirties and have never celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving other than "being thankful" for stuff. mrgreen

Anyway, I did spent the day with TFB and SW, we had work to do for The Parish, we did it. Had lunch together and it was very nice. So I was in a thankful mode today, especially in the past weeks. We laughed a lot, it always feels good, whatever we all do. It's Thanksgiving and I would just like it be known that I appreciate each and every person/good things in my life. I'm thankful to be alive, happy and to be looking forward. That's it!

So I didn't get any news from Big Multinational Company because it was a holiday in here. I'm ready though, whenever they'll call. People around me are ready too, they support me 100%.

I'm trying to understand what the hell's wrong with my Beta Fish. I did almost kill it by putting a glass plate on the bowl to keep Mr. Cat from eating it. rolleyes He's kind of a killer! Doing this I kept oxygen from going it, so you imagine how healthy he was? SW said "Girl, that wasn't really wise, you were kind of killing it slowly!" wink I know Hun, I know...

Overheard in the living room 30 seconds ago: "Nope Dude, we DO NOT kill members of the family. Fishy is a member of the family as you are. WE DO NOT KILL IT! Don't go there! Nope!!! How many times am I going to repeat this? What the hell? Will he kill it while I sleep? I hope not but then again, what can I do? Mr. Cat only listens to Mr. Cat. I adore him, he's my fur baby but he's stubborn.

So that's my day, my update. How was your day? What did ya do? Have any idea on what to do with the Beta fish? confused

Local people are aggravating...

Yeah, they are. I swear, I've answered way too many stupid questions today. I 'm ashamed of the rudeness of some people. rolleyes

Would you take a dog inside a church? Now, if you're a blind person it's fine, but a fucking chiwawa. Would you? Would you ask the girl at the door? Who the hell brings their freaking dog inside? And she wasn't happy that I said "no".

Would you come inside a church and drink 4 coffees? and put your garbage inside of the little basket where the cups of milk are? The fucking garbage can isn't big enough?

Would you yell at the girl at the door step that there's no more fucking forks/spoons to eat the free cake? rolleyes

Would you touch everything and ask me if each of the freaking 100 items are free? There's a price list, each item also has a little sticker. Honestly, each of them? Give me a fucking break.

Would you argue with the girl at the door that you've seen the exposition in the years before and when she tells you that it was made This year for the Parish Anniversary, would you still say you've seen it last year?

Get ready for the next one it's fucking hysterical... Where's the exposition? It's in the vestry but you can't go now because there's baptisms going on. Her looking at me like I'm a dumbass. Baptism in a church? yeah, it's what it's for huh? I'm sorry ma'am, but yes, we do baptise babies here. smile

You are going to try to speak English? I will Sir, I speak both. You do HUH? looks at me and point the whole fucking time I'm with a visitor.

One lady yelled and cussed at me because we sold blessed items. Back in her days, blessed items were to be given, not sold. She was arguing that I should give them to her. Whatever!!!

Many parishioners came for the 8 am mass and argues with me that I was in fact mistaken, that there would be a mass at 8h00. I apologised and explained that it was announced that there wouldn't be one. That the only one was the 9h30 AM with The Bishop. Two of them whatever me and left

Please, feed your child before a baptism, or at least make them understand that harassing the girl for coffee and cake is rude. No means NO!

Whatever, don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you!!! I didn't say it, I just thought about it.

Overheard at The Church, me to my EX EX Boyfriend. "I'm so thankful that you didn't make any babies years ago. Thank God!"

The visitors were sweet, we had more than 400 of them. They were nice, happy to be in town, happy to be welcomed. The problem were the local people. The Bishop was awesome, he introduced the mass in both french and English, chatted with visitors.

mrgreen So that's my update. I'm pissy, I am totally pissy. The local people totally aggravated me. I looked annoyed too. lol But other than that, I'm fine. I swear, I don't bite. wink

Have a great sunday!

It's only 6h00 AM and I'm getting ready to get going for 7h00 AM, I even woke up earlier than my clock alarm confused, by 5h30, I was up.

The material's ready, I have devotional and pious items here, I have the cash box, the signs, my lunch is packed. I'm taking lozenges, Kleenex and Motrin IB with me. I hope the day goes smoothly, I hope it is perfect. Anyway, there's not much I can do. At least my cruise ship partner is great and the rest of the team will be mostly there. We can handle most anything.

Local television is going to be there to film the whole mass, that too, is going to be a memorabilia.lol I wish I didn't feel congested and stuffed but whatever. mrgreen I want plenty of visitors, at least as much as our usual cruise ships days, pretty please with a cherry on top. biggrin

On a normal saturday...

Well I ran errands, went to the pharmacy, picked up some stuff to break my sore throat. The Pharmacist is awesome, she's one of the sweetest woman I know. Picked up books at the library and tripped on the fucking stairs when trying to get to my building.

Tripped and freaking hurt my knee. It was bloody and painful, I washed it with soap, put Bactroban on it and moved on. lol It was embarrassing, I had 4 bags of groceries, pharmacy things and books and tripped in front of the front door entry. rolleyes What came out of my mouth wasn't exactly a prayer altho God's name was invoked. lol I'm not going to die, I'm just a whiny baby when I'm sick.

I'm going to go in bed read my Robin Cook book, try to rest because The Tall Friend is picking me up at 7 AM. That's early for a Sunday huh?

I just remembered that The Bishop's going to be at The Church tomorrow. Oh! La La!!! He's a nice man, but celebration are long when he's there. I won't have to sit in a pew, I'll be at the door with the visitors. mrgreen Can't say it doesn't make me happy! It's the closing mass for the Parish Anniversary tomorrow. The celebrations will be done and over with. Alleluia!

Night guys!!! Hope your weekend is going smoothly! Drop me a comment to let me know how you are doing! smile

About commenting on a blog entry....

This is a Public Service Announcement (PSA), to one of my friend who read this blog. You can comment on each blog entry, even if it's anonymous, I accept it here. At the bottom of each entry, there's a little "comments", click it and it'll take you in a nano-second to a screen where you'll be able to write whatever you want. mrgreen It's because we talked about it last night.

So today, no religious debate, I did it last night and boy did it get heated. lol It's all because I'm promoting separation of church and state, not sex with goats! I know why did I mention sex with goats? Because. I. Can. mrgreen I'll get a lot of freaks who Google sex with goats end up here with Google. UGGH!!!

I need to go pick up stuff to break my cold/sore throat thingy because I want to feel better tomorrow, BIG day. So I'll leave you on that, what are you planning to do today?

A dance story

Because I was tagged by Claudia and because I'm glad to be part of a blogger circle, I'll tell you a story. I'm warning you tho, it's not going to be very interesting because I'm not a dancer. But I'll tell you a story that involves dancing. mrgreen

The Ex Boyfriend worked for the department of environment and natural resources. They were having a Christmas themed party. I'm trying to say it with a straight face but there's nothing that annoys me more than the thought of dressing up as a renaissance girl. Knights, Kings, Queens, renaissance is something absolutely unattractive to me.So, we had to lend costumes and wear these stupid things. The dress I wore was hideous, I swear, it was terrible. I also was kinda scared that these people would be boring, a bunch of bureaucrat and/officials but to my surprise 90% of them were funny, relaxed and not uptight at all. lol

Anyway, after dinner it was dancing time. I had brought with me a change of clothes (regular clothes and shoes) to dance. It's near impossible to dance wearing renaissance clothes. (IMO anyway) So I told The Ex Boyfriend that I was going to go change ( he wasn't so thrilled about it), and many people did the same, we danced, laughed and drank. His colleague thought I was funny and sweet. mrgreen

That's kind of an uneventful dance story eh? lol Sorry, I can't dance, well, I love too but don't feel confident moving my body on a dance floor in front of people. I. Am. A. little. Weirdo. lol

I'm tagging:

Edited to add that you've got to tag 5 people with your story!
