This blog will return late Friday

Just so you guys don't worry because you don't see any update until Friday, it's because I felt for a little vacation at a friend's house at The Lake or should I call it The Frozen Lake.

I hope you guys have a great week, I for sure will enjoy myself. I have 2 and a half hours of bus tomorrow but I'll deal with this. I'll bring my MacBook, my MP3 player and I've got books but I think I'll be working on the projects for The Parish.

Has it been that long since I posted?

Wow, haven't blogged since Saturday night? I'm sorry... I was online tho, and commented on people's blog. I guess I just didn't think of posting something new... (I'm sorry I suck, or I don't?)

I felt like a trophy last night and it was really flattering for my ego. We had a meeting with The Diocese for the annual funding campaign with members of the diocese and other members of church council all over the diocese. I'm in my twenties, I'm young, alive, feminine, happy and you know, it's not common for a parish those days to have an administrator that young, especially a women.

The two men from the diocese wouldn't believe me when I said " Hello, my name is No Nonsense girl and I'm on the church council of The Parish".

Them: Really? That's not possible

Me: Seriously, I am a member of the church council.

Them: But you are so...

M: so what? cute? sexy? hot?
I was elected in December and I've been in The Parish for a few years

Them: Wow, really, you are not kidding?

M: Well, you'll ask The Friendly Boss when he joins us, he'll tell you.

Then they just smiled...

Few seconds later, The Friendly Boss joined us and confirms to Mr. In charge of the finances at The Diocese that I am indeed a member of the church council. Just so you know, these 2 guys from The Diocese were very nice for the rest of the evening.

I guess they were just shocked to see a young hot woman on a council. I was not offended one second, it was very flattering. I did indeed feel like a trophy and it was good for my ego, you know... By the way, it's because members of church council are mostly way over their 60s and mostly male. I wasn't the only woman yesterday, I think we were 5 or 6. I told TFB when we were alone " I know why you wanted me to come tonight, it was to show me off to them eh? He just laughed and smiled.

So that's it. I'm leaving tomorrow morning to visit a friend and I'll be back on Friday in the evening. I can't leave longer, Mr.Cat is able to be independent and care for himself for 2 nights/3 days but more than that stresses him and me out.

I'm going to go for a walk this afternoon, it's going to relax me.

Posting before going to bed

I'm getting my butt ready for sleep, I'm pooped.

This morning I had a long talk with The Cute Friend, my friend and former co-worker at Big Multinational Company. We had a lot to catch on, I told her about my college application, she told me all about the company at the moment and you know I'd miss her a lot. Because when you work together, you kinda lose the closeness of the friendship without losing the feelings that are still present, but because you are at work and are two professionals, you act like co-workers, not friends (If that makes sense). She is one awesome person, let me tell you. I would vouch for her in any situation.


Then I went for coffee with The Mother, we had a nice time, it was cool. We went to The Coffee Place, talked and it was fun. I needed a keyboard to use with my MacBook so The Father sent me a keyboard, which was very very nice.

I need to learn the professional typing method. (required in my college program) So I'm following a course on the computer (Ten thumbs typing tutor) and with this USB keyboard, it's going to be easier for me to practice than on the laptop using their little keyboard. I have the whole year to learn this but I'm a perfectionist, so you know I'll want to master it before. I actually started to practice Wednesday morning after my meeting where The Tall Friend and The Friendly Boss "pushed" me to get myself to do it. I say "pushed" because they were very nice about it and their opinion matters to me a lot.

This afternoon when I got back home, I cleaned and cleaned and tidied up the spare bedroom so I can eventually do my office there and be more organized.

I spoke a while with The Passionate One in the evening and watched TV and visited blogs.

I hope your Saturday was well, mine was great... I still have lots of things to work on for the parish because we've got a meeting on Monday night.

Guess who got accepted in college?

If you guessed that I did you are right. I went to the interview with the 2 program coordinator this morning and I was accepted! How fucking wonderful this is?

The course is not going to start before mid-March /mid-April but I'm still very very excited and thrilled and relieved and happy! Thanks for the positives thoughts, they've helped me a lot.

Can you believe I'm anxious about this?

I'm a bit anxious for the interview with the people in charge of the college program. I can't wait to show 'em what I've got inside.

Dear God, nothing is ever going to be easy eh? That's fine, I'm going to conquer this. I'm strong, I'm smart, I'm bright and I'm a professional, they will want to have me.

Think of me tomorrow morning, I'll leave at 7h30 to arrive at the college around 8h35-40. My appt is at 8h50. I'll have enough time. I need prayers, vibes, positive thoughts, hugs, anything.

freaking cold... AKA I'm sick again...

Damn it, I am sick again. I don't get it! I received my freaking flu shot and it has made no difference. Once again I'm sick with a bad cold. I have a fever, my throat is sore, my lymph nodes are swollen, my nose is stuffed, I cough and it's painful. I hate being sick because I feel vulnerable and I'm whiny.

I've been taking decongestant, taking tylenol and Motrin IB, sucking lozenges, drinking sirup and at the moment I'm drinking a Neo Citran.

I have an interview at the college tomorrow morning. I don't wanna look like hell. I need to impress them for God's sake. I need to look good and speak clearly. I'll get a good night of sleep, dress nicely, wear lots of makeup to make me look alive and sell myself.

I'm finishing my Neo Citran and will take a long hot shower, put jammies on and rest.

I have no inspiration for a witty title for this post

I don't know what's up with me. Something needs to happen, I need to get my ass to college or work because that whole thing makes me feel under the weather. I'm on the edge of losing it. I'm bitchy, I wanna fight everybody, I wanna fight. I don't know if I'm PMSing, maybe, that'd be a good reason to feel close to the edge because for God's sake, I'm starting to annoy myself. That's a sign you know.

I procrastinate most of the morning to finish something for the parish and finished it... finally.

I've been listening to "Yes, we can'" song from Will.I.Am and I love it. I wanna buy a Omaba shirt but the official Obama store doesn't deliver to canada. Whatever!

I've been taking melatonin since Friday night and geez it's working. Anyone taking it?

My interview for the college program is coming

I received a call this morning. I have an interview Friday morning at 8h50. That's awesome. I can't wait! I hope to God to be accepted by the college.

I had a good weekend, on Friday night, The Passionate One and I went for beers at a bistrot and it was nice and on Saturday, I went with The New Blogger (TNB) to a sport event with the kiddos and we all had dinner and then spent the evening chatting.

I'm enjoying myself wearing my jammies this morning. I'm going to a conference this afternoon at TNB's workplace. I'm listening to Woman by Shawn Phillips, how freaking great is the song? I have nauseas but I don't understand where this is coming from... I'm not sick or pregnant. That's for sure!

I'm addicted to this game!

The Father sent me the link 2 days ago and I keep playing. I love that game. My record is 341 lives saved. What's yours? Wanna beat me? This is the game, it's free but addictive.

I'm going to play another few games and get to bed, I'm going to eat breakfast with a friend tomorrow morning and then off we go to shop in Bigger Town.

13 things I've been wasting my time on in the past week

I say wasting but I mean 13 things I've been spending time doing. I'm unemployed, it's OK to waste a bit of time. This is the longest vacation I've had in a long time and I'm enjoying it now.

1. I've been spending a lot of time on this blog.

2. I've been working on The Parish's blog. and it's looking quite good.

8. I've been working on summer project for The Parish. We will hire a student for 10 weeks this summer if we get the student program grants. The student would be hire as a guide to do tours of the church with visitors, it would be historical visits. Not religious...

11. I've been chatting on the phone with lots of friends...

12. I've planned a dinner with a former co-worker (tuesday night) and will go for breakfast with some friends from the other Parish in town on friday and we'll go shopping all day after.

That's what I've been up to. I'm quite boring but I've been enjoying life. These unexpected vacations are helping me recharge my batteries and I'm feeling good.

And just because I'm mean and cruel

We are talking about the same jerk who harassed me because I was taking my shower around 18h15 when I was getting home and it was bothering him. What the fuck ever! You are at home all day, you live off my taxes and people's taxes. Take your goddamned shower whenever you want but I'm gone from 7h00 am to 18h15, take it in between those hours. When I get home, I'm going to do whatever I want. Our appartment are not even on the same level...

The man's looking for shit, sadly for him I guess, I'm not interested, so he gets "OK' from me, nothing else.

What the hell is wrong with people? How can one feel that entitled? Jerk!!!! Anyone have neighbor like that?

My neighbor is a jerk

One of my neighbor is a jerk, I've had numerous issues with him. He's a drug addict who's not working, just lives off welfare and is a real PITA. I'm telling you, the guy has issues.

I just crossed him outside, he's all hyper and grabs my arm and says "Be careful when you walk, you walk so loudly that lights bulbs are exploding". Whatever fucking jerk, there's no way my footstep are shaking your ceiling. What the hell? Exploding lights bulbs? Lay off the crack pipe, jerk. I just rolled my eyes at him and muttered a "OK". After all, he's a junkie, I didn't wanted to piss him off but for god's sake, relax. I don't weight 900 pounds and I don't wear combat boots inside jerk.

Your music is loud enough that I can't hear the TV sometimes.. Other drug addicts are coming and going out of your place ALL the fucking time. I have never complain to the maintenance person because I don't want to stir shit. But please, shut the fuck up. I don't care about your issues. You bring them all upon yourself.

I'm sorry to jump in the political blogging but you guys have to watch this video. It is called "John.He.Is" it's about John Mc Cain's campaign, the video is inspired by Obama's song. It is very good... As you guys know, I'm Canadian but I still have an opinion.

I should be sleeping by now....

I know, I'm so freaking bad. I just love staying late. I know I'm not getting up tomorrow morning. I was told that it takes at least 2 weeks of time away from work to relax and just forget about everything and it's right, I'm just 100% relaxed. I am not overwhelmed anymore with feelings of sadness and "un-worthiness", not at all.

I discovered the blog of someone I knew when I was a teen and young adult and I've been reading it almost all evening. I did spend quite a while on the phone with my friend The New Blogger (TTF's wife converted to blogging 2 weeks ago) You should have seen TTF's face when he learn his wife had a blog! That was fucking priceless, "What the heck did you do to my wife" "I swear, she asked me, I did NOT talk her into it, AT ALL.

And I also spoke briefly with TFB. We'll finish some work for The Parish tomorrow...I've been kinda dreading work with The Parish because things are a bit hectic, for some reasons, we seem to be facing some attitude issues and I'm kinda hot tempered and it takes a lot for me to let go and not lose it. Some people push my buttons more easily I should say. Luckily for me or unluckily for him, (it's a matter of perspective) TFB had a way of calming me down, always. There's some people who are able to get through us and just calm us down. He's one of those people but when you work HR, you've gotta be like that or you are a jerk. So hopefully things at La Parish will get back on track fast enough and I'm just going to take a chill pill and patiently wait.

A Sunday update

As to answer CQ' and Jenny's question. What degree will I take in college?

The degree I'm planning on taking is Bilingual Management, Accounting and Office Automation.

That's the one I'm going to be scheduled for an interview before the end of febuary.

If I don't get it, there's one that looks a little more interesting and it's Bilingual Office management. It includes the same classes as the previous one but about 300 more hours of management classes. That was my favorite one but I just couldn't see myself wait until August when the classes would start. But I would have like the management classes because I see myself in some type on manager position one day. We shall see...

Where I'm from, College is different that University. It's 2 different systems. There's pre-university programs in college like humanities, sciences and litterature. The others are mostly technical college degree. Nursing, all type of physical therapist, medical technician, Accounting technician, Administrative technician and so on. In University you get a Bac or a Master degree or an Doctorat. Does it make any sense? After you graduate from college you either have a DEC (Diploma of College Studies) or an AEC (Attestation of College Studies)

Cross your fingers for me? I don't have a problem with the bilingual part but in my area, people who speak both french and english are on demand. I can't wait!!!!!
