Way too effin deep thought for a Friday night!

lol Seriously! It's not 23h00, I'm not drunk but damn my thoughts are profound.

If XYZ didn't happen to me, I wouldn't be who I am today. It made me this strong person. But I also chose to transform it into something creative, something full of life. It was a "Marvelous misfortune" says Boris Cyrulnik when he speaks of the concept of resilience. We as humans can be creator of life when terrible shit happens.

Two years ago I was the shadow of who I am today, which isn't bad, it's just a fact. It's sad but nothing that couldn't be fixed as you can see. mrgreen

On a lighter topic, the cruise ship was somewhat big (not huge), the people were nice but I didn't feel the "magic" connection with the visitors. Was it my fault? Maybe?! I was tired, had a long day, I was also more than prepared, happy to be there. No one was rude, they were nice, interested but the "magic" connection, the little click that makes human interaction different wasn't there. confused But no one pissed in my Cheerios! lol The weather was magnificent, just in the 80s F, not windy at ALL, just awesome.

TFB and SW joined me very early, parishioners came. We were close a little before 16h00 because the cruise ship left a little earlier than planned. We went to the park parallel to the shore and look at the ship leaving. The weather was nice, we met with many local people. (Duh!) I believed I was done, I even said there's "no fucking way I'd be leaving my place tonight" but after a shower, a drink, an hour in my jammies I went with friends at The Coffee Place. I'm actually not hard to convince when I had a shower and food in my stomach. I'm a cheap whore eh?

I'm sleeping in late tomorrow morning. I think I'll close the ring on the phone so I'm not bothered if someone calls. I need to relax. I don't have to go home because I stopped at the grocery store on my way back home.

My plans for the "after" are being done, they will include a "Go back to school for an intensive year and get a permanent job after". smile

What are your plans for this weekend? How was your week?

It's 5 in the morning

I'm up, it's not easy to be up that early because I like to sleep in but it's for such a good reason. Cruise Ship

Just so you guys know, there are negatives sides to working in a parish but soo many positive ones.Human nature is what it is may it be inside of a church, an accounting office or an aluminium plant. If you know what I mean. mrgreen

Off for coffee and get myself ready! mrgreen I'll post later today when I get back home.

13 things that went wrong this week..

1. I forgot to have the invitation for the closing mass of The Parish Anniversary signed by The Parish Priest.

2. I had to do them all over again after he signed them.

3. One of the guest calls me today during lunch to ask "what time is the mass, it wasn't in the letter" For fuck's sake, I forgot to write the &$?*$# time. Unbelievable! I forgot the fucking time? Can't believe it!

4. I spend the afternoon calling these 31 priests, 2 of them are very angry because of X events in the past and let me know how we suck. Whatever!!!

5. I schedule with the local television the taping of the Closing Mass for The Parish Anniversary. The girl in charge of the contracts emails me this morning "I got the OK to use X amount left from your budget, All is good, we will be there to film." Er I come home to an email from her where she "apologizes but DOESN'T have the OK so this isn't over, someone needs to okay this." Who? What the hell? Huh, I'm the one who deals with you, can't I OKAY IT? it is our money, for fucks's sake.

6. Annoying Liturgy Lady cussed at me Monday and I played her game and told her "go see TFB, as you can see I'm with visitors and what you ask is not doable", I once again played her game.

7. I met a cute guy who works on the cruise ship and forget to ask him his email addy.

8. I could have taken his picture.lol

9. On Monday night, I went to be early, the phone rang at 21h30, it was The Historian. I wasn't able to get back to sleep before 1 AM. Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!!!

10. I'm PMSing , I'm moody and cranky

11. Because of this crazy week, my final paper isn't done at all. I have 1 week left. This sucks!!!

12. When TFB and I looked tru the books to order pious and devotional items, I took the number but didn't write down the page. We had to do it twice.

13. I didn't write the prices correctly, when I called the lady (she was awesome BTW), I had to pick other items because those I had chosen were by item instead of by pack. (instead of 12 pins for 5$ it was 5$ a pin)

I need to be held, I need a hug. I want to cry, it's like nothing I do this week (except for the cruise ships) sucks. It's like I just shouldn't bother to do anything. Tell me we all have weeks like this. I'm sorry to be such a Debbie Downer.mrgreen

A preachy blog entry

It's because I just stopped by our shelter for battered women that I'm thinking of saying it now but if you have a center locally, donate to them, food, money, time, clothes, anything they need. We had a meeting at The Church and had snacks, we had a lot of leftovers. I called the shelter and asked them if it would be alright for me to drop by their place the leftovers. They were thrilled. These people do a very good job.

List of shelter in Canada

This place is safe for women and kids and they survive on not so awesome budget. sad Anyway, just a reminder that shelters need our help to go on with their mission to support and provide a roof and help to our mothers, sisters, friends, daughters etc.

Thanks to The Parish for being open to my desire to offer the shelter our leftover good instead of giving it to our people to eat. Which isn't a bad idea but there are people in need. We can help a little. The Parish people have always been opened to my little mission. lol maybe it's because they know better than to fight me when I believe in doing something eh? mrgreen

Shake me AKA the day is finally over...

It is over, I'm finally home. Thank God and you know what? I didn't accidentally kill anyone. rolleyes lol

This morning, I'm on my way to the post office, I have 31 invitation to the closing mass of the Parish Anniversary in my hands, addressed and licked.

One of the secretary asks me if they were signed by The Parish Priest?

Er No, why? fuck, fuck fuck, I forgot Big sigh, is he coming today? They have no clue.Off I go to a phone to call his cell. " Hey this is NNG, Are you coming by today, I need you to sign the invitation. Yeah, thanks, I'm here." I couldn't open the envelopes without screwing them so I had to start ALL over again Is this my job anyway? What the hell am I? So I did it ALL over again. Er, they are in the mail at the moment.

In my office, with The tall friend, his wife (a friend too) and TFB. TTF looks at my desk chair and says "What the hell? Why is your chair so close to the ground?" I reply with an innocent smile and a blonde mind "They gave me a broken chair, it just won't lift up, It's broken, so I've been sitting 12 inches from the floor for a year now".

He walks to the chair, asks me to get up, looks under the chair, lifts it up with a little handle, it goes to the regular height. He bursts laughing hysterically I mean totally laughing at me. TFB says " Tell me again when does your contract with The Parish ends? I tell him the end of next week. He giggles and says "good cuz you are kinda slow this morning huh? Are you always like this? lol We all laughed.

It was NOT my day. And yeah, my contract ends next Friday but I'll be working until the end of October and I have a couple of weeks of overtime to receive.mrgreen It will be diary of a former catholic church worker wink

You know what? I've adored working with these people, some of them will forever be friend, some have touched my life in soo many ways that I'm not the girl I was when I started to work at The Parish. This totally changed my life. I'm a better person because of all of these great guys. And Annoying Liturgy Lady's acts do not take anything from my time at this great place.

So that's it, I need to get in bed because I need to sleep, I am soo sleepy. This was my Tuesday night slice of life. mrgreen Do you have people in your life to whom you owe soo much? That have made a difference? Tell me about them.

Geez, I forgot my brain at home this morning....

because I'm totally beside myself today. As in "it's a damn good thing I don't drive" because I could kill someone.

I messed up 31 invitation this morning, screwed up my chair, didn't correctly wrote down our order to the religious supply store. I swear, I should just go to bed.

I am beside myself, I'm tired and cranky and overwhelmed with work. TFB and a friend laughed at me and I have to say, I totally deserved it. lol

French-canadian visiting florida

during winter are to Quebecers what Americans who appear on Jerry Springer are to regular Americans. lol Not representative at all.

That's how I explained to a group of people from Florida this afternoon how pre-conceived idea taint our views when we aren't aware of a culture. They were really nice, all of them. But it is true, what we *see* on TV or our exchange with a different culture do NOT mean that all of it's population is in fact like that. Do Americans feel they are greatly represented by by their citizen appearing on Jerry Springer? I hope to God you don't think so. lol

Can you believe I'm still posting? rolleyes Well, it's not 18h30 Yet and I'm in my jammies because I wear pajamas to sleep we had a strange conversation about sleeping habits. I do prefer to sleep with a man who wear a pajama to sleep. I'm not a nekkid type of girl when SLEEPING. I know Too freaking Much Information girl, TMI! mrgreen

People from the Sacred Heart Parish, I love you. Your visit was fun, I'll remember all of you.

oh dear visitors from the cruise ship...

You guys were awesome, the day was fantastic, ALL of you blew me by your kindness, intelligence and desire to interact. Thanks for the laughs, the giggles, the conversations.

I'm pooped but Oh, so happy! TFB liked the day also.

It's a post and run, I just ate some leftovers, I'll run in the showers and go to bed. I'm just exhausted. I'm sure the next stop will be great in Quebec city.

From my french-Canadian heart to yours!!! Thanks a million of times!

About Cedrika Provencher

Martin Provencher, Cedrika's father appeared on the Radio Canada show "Tout le monde en parle" tonight. She's still missing, nothing new was released but he's hoping. I'm hoping, I think the population of the whole province hopes to find her alive.

She's been missing for 47 days cry. Anyway, if you have any information concerning the disappearance, contact the police at 1-800-659-4264.

You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers Cedrika.

Edited to say that I tried to put the slideshow made by Cedrika's father but it slowed down my whole blog. So instead, I'm putting pictures I've used before. And I'm adding the link to Cedrika Provencher official website it's http://cedrikaprovencher.com/

Eventless weekend

mrgreen yeah, mostly an eventless weekend. I hang with a friend on Friday for dinner, went to bed really early that night. Slept in late Saturday ( 12 PM like), went shopping with TYP, to mass in the evening and today went for brunch at The Restaurant with a friend, her infant daughter and one of her son. TFB and SW will be back in town tonight, they went on a short trip.

Our usual waiter was there, this young guy (he's my age like) is a sweetheart.smile When it was time to order he said "Same thing as usual? 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, white bread?" I said "yup, you sure know me". mrgreen

Tomorrow will be a big day at The Church, we are going to have cruise ship visitors in town for the second time this year. smile The first day was awesome, I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be as good. I love the visitors, they are a breath of fresh air. My partner for these days will be there.

So that's it, I'm just going to relax for the rest of the day, watch TV, surf on the net and read. What will you be doing? How was your weekend?

Are you related to Paul Davis?

lol This has been our running gag at the office. This summer The Parish hired a secretary for a maternity leave replacement. The new girl is adorable, she's sweet, nice and fun to work with. She's my coffee buddy!

This summer, a man calls and has her prepare a certificate of baptism. Fine thing, his name is X Davis. She tells me "I wonder if he's related to Paul Davis, confused Who knows.... When he comes to pick up his certificate, silly me says

"I was wondering something, are you related to Paul Davis?" He looks at me like I've got 3 heads and 7 arms and says "Paul Davis was a Gagnon"lol

My coffee buddy was hysterical in the vaulting room, she was laughing her ass off because I asked the guy.

redface I didn't know, I wasn't born in Paul Davis's days. lol So since the incident, this is a running gag, she calls me "Miss Davis", she passes calls to my office saying it's Mr Davis, anyway, we laugh a lot because of my "dumb" question. mrgreen Yesterday, my coffee buddy tells me that she *knew* Paul Davis wasn't a Davis but he was a Gagnon but that she had a brain fart. lol

Do you have running gag at your office? Please, tell me some ! mrgreen

It's a long story...

and it's kinda embarrassing but the freak (who is BTW member of the massage therapist order) to whom I gave money to give me a massage on my birthday massaged my breasts. eek

I'm laying on my back, on the table, she's been giving me a massage for over an hour, she takes the sheet off my front, and starts to massage my breasts

Er I'm NOT okay with this, what are you doing? What the fuck???? I took the sheet back, covered myself and sat down.

Her: I wanted to do a special technique

You should have asked before touching my breasts

She apologize and explain that when she moved in the region 2 years ago, her associate told her that in this area, breasts, ass and belly were taboo and that it was unprofessional for a massage therapist to touch these places without asking first.

The freaks explains to me that she doesn't think she should ask because to her this is natural, she doesn't feel she should ask permission. rolleyes

rolleyes Well, you know, If you had asked, I would have said "no thanks", not a big deal. But this is ridiculous.

Her: I've massaged the breasts with that technique of at least 100 women and none of them complained.

rolleyes I'm sure none of them came back huh?

I'm not a prude and I've lived before but this was a flabbergasting experience. The freak just did not get it. Anyway, fast forward to Saturday afternoon at the church. She comes back to say hello. when she leaves, I tell TFB exactly what happened the day before. He soo funny says:

lol Not only did you had an homosexual experience with her but she's got a crush on you now huh?

You are so funny TFB!!! STFU!!!! :::sarcastically and jokingly said:::

TFB has no issue with homosexuality, he was totally joking me around and we did laugh a lot. But honestly, what the fuck was up with her? Do you think this was off limits? Do I need to say that I won't ever go back to her?

Oh so boring...

I would have at least 50 stories to tell but I'm super busy and exhausted when I get home, the only thing I wanted to do last night was to crawl in bed.

Guess who went to bed at 20h00 last night? Yeah, I did. rolleyes

And guess who got up at 3h30 this morning and wasn't able to fall back asleep? Yeah, you got it right. lol

I spoke with my pharmacist yesterday and with her advice, decided to take Lenoctal again and see if I'd get hives. I took it at 18h30- 19h00 last night and nothing to report. No hives, nothing. I'm kinda scared. confused lol I wish I could get to sleep and wake up Friday at 16h00, can it be? Can it be? razz
