13 things that went wrong this week..

1. I forgot to have the invitation for the closing mass of The Parish Anniversary signed by The Parish Priest.

2. I had to do them all over again after he signed them.

3. One of the guest calls me today during lunch to ask "what time is the mass, it wasn't in the letter" For fuck's sake, I forgot to write the &$?*$# time. Unbelievable! I forgot the fucking time? Can't believe it!

4. I spend the afternoon calling these 31 priests, 2 of them are very angry because of X events in the past and let me know how we suck. Whatever!!!

5. I schedule with the local television the taping of the Closing Mass for The Parish Anniversary. The girl in charge of the contracts emails me this morning "I got the OK to use X amount left from your budget, All is good, we will be there to film." Er I come home to an email from her where she "apologizes but DOESN'T have the OK so this isn't over, someone needs to okay this." Who? What the hell? Huh, I'm the one who deals with you, can't I OKAY IT? it is our money, for fucks's sake.

6. Annoying Liturgy Lady cussed at me Monday and I played her game and told her "go see TFB, as you can see I'm with visitors and what you ask is not doable", I once again played her game.

7. I met a cute guy who works on the cruise ship and forget to ask him his email addy.

8. I could have taken his picture.lol

9. On Monday night, I went to be early, the phone rang at 21h30, it was The Historian. I wasn't able to get back to sleep before 1 AM. Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!!!

10. I'm PMSing , I'm moody and cranky

11. Because of this crazy week, my final paper isn't done at all. I have 1 week left. This sucks!!!

12. When TFB and I looked tru the books to order pious and devotional items, I took the number but didn't write down the page. We had to do it twice.

13. I didn't write the prices correctly, when I called the lady (she was awesome BTW), I had to pick other items because those I had chosen were by item instead of by pack. (instead of 12 pins for 5$ it was 5$ a pin)

I need to be held, I need a hug. I want to cry, it's like nothing I do this week (except for the cruise ships) sucks. It's like I just shouldn't bother to do anything. Tell me we all have weeks like this. I'm sorry to be such a Debbie Downer.mrgreen

The thing is, God loves you and is right there to hold you "in the shadow of his wings." He hears your cries and is ready to comfort you. The Bible says he is very near the heart-scalded. (Well, maybe it doesn't use that word!)

Don't you just hate when you make more work for yourself? As a lady who was PMSing big time on Monday, I am with you sister. Went to print an access file of 90 pages for 35 books and realized midway through the job that the person used the wrong excel file...must be the moon affecting us.

Head on over to youtube and watch some debbie downer to cheer yourself up.

Ooof. We've all had weeks like that. Hopefully next week will be better for you. Happy TT and thanks for stopping by.

You've had a tough week and are feeling overwhelmed by everything! Having been there myself, I have two pieces of advice: 1 -- turn it all over to God, and 2 -- chocolate.
Best of luck and hang in there!

I had to laugh at #3...

My mom and her mom before her were secretaries at their church...I broke the tradition!

Thanks for visiting :-)

#10 accounts for all the others, I think. I hope you see the Cute Guy again! And this time, take his picture with your cell phone.

Janet, the thing is that I am not a secretary, I'm sometimes doing that job because of the Parish Anniversary commitee but I was hired to be in charge of the preservation, conservation and promotion of our heritage. I'm the girl who does the historical research but for *some reasons* I've been inm charge of the freaking paper work for the past, well 6 months. But only when it is in relation to the Parish Anniversary celebrations. Still, It's not *my job" but one has to do it. I'm also the one who has created an exposition that related the history of The Parish. :) Cool job!!!!

The girls at the office (2 secretaries) are sweet angels, wayy more patient that I could ever be!!! :P

thanks the gal herself, if he's back, you can bet I'll take his picture!!! :)

and I felt soo dumb that I kept messing up these stupid invites!!! LOL it's actually making me feel soo much better to post about them :)

I can see that being a Catholic Church worker isn't quite the transcendent experience one would expect. Just carry on with the good work! I'm glad PMS is all behind me.

Just take a deep breath and concentrate on those cruise ship thoughts! And accept a hug from all of us.

I'm sorry about how rough your week's been. I can empathize.

Here's hoping your week turns around and the weekend is on the other side of the spectrum entirely.

I was away for the weekend, and I just got back Monday afternoon. I was tired, but that is really no excuse for the litany of things I forgot on Tuesday. I was actually embarrassed by the extent of my forgetfulness. I forgot to collect a reserved item of clothing from a shop. I forgot to buy my husband's newspaper. I forgot to collect tomatoes. I forgot my jacket at my grandparents' house. By the end of a very long day I was just ready to crawl under the duvet! You are not alone!!
Thankfully, I've got some great people around me, so I decided to do my TT about them this week. You can read it here. Would love to know what you thought of it!
Wishing you a happy TT and a better week next week!

well, since i am in another country, i can't do any of the things you need. So let me make a little suggestion. Go to your super market, pick up a Mrs. Smiths cpple crumb pie (or similar), and cookie dough icecream, bring it home and place it in the oven (takes about 45 mintes). Please do this at night, so that while it is baking you can sneak out, let all the air out of the annoying liturgy lady's tires and get home in time for pie. Then proceed to eat the whole pie and carton of icecream. You will feel better, if not just a little stuffed, i promise.

Addicted to crafting said...

@April LOL, LOL, I'm such a good girls that I'll just fantasize of slashing her tires. :P I wouldn't do it because I would feel guilty... ::rolleyes:::

I'm gonna pick up an apple pie and ice cream for sure!!!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!!

I'm sure he was catholic LOL!!!!

I'm feeling better, life goes on and I could see the cutie tomorrow if he comes back to the church while they all get off the cruis ship. ***drools***

Have a great day!!!!

The song you are thinking of is Poison. LOL! Yes, it was that easy. I don't care much for his work after the early 80's.

Anyway, have a great week!

Addicted to crafting said...

@eternal flux

I'm glad I "remembered" correctly!!!

When was Poison composed? after the early 80s?

Thanks for your visit, as always appreciated!!!

I wish your experiences were the aberration and not the norm. Sadly.... I have a lot of friends who work in various capacities in the church and this is pretty normal.

You know, whenever 2 or more of you are together? God might be there but you can almost guarantee that someone is going to be a jerk.

Sorry.

Do you just work there, or do you actually believe in what you're doing?

Addicted to crafting said...

@ FRIGGA, You may only have read the TT post but I am a convert. I was baptised in the catholic church in 2000 and having God in my life did change who I was. I love the church (altho I do not agree on every of it's stance). I love Jesus christ, I am a practicing catholic. One who feels free to say what I think and who believes love to other humans is what matters the most.

I have met AMAZING people, i post about them often.

But even if I'm a practicing catholic, I have friends who do not believe in God or any God and I love them and accept them for who they are. I don't have issues with homosexuals. I'm a very liberal catholic and proud to be one.

Why do you ask? :)

I have weeks like this. Weeks where I just want to hide under the covers...

The sheer size of Catholic parishes still astounds me. Ours is itty bitty... but it's still the biggest church I've ever attended, both in terms of population and the building.

Having multiple priests mad at me would make me apoplectic. I sure hope things get better.

If comments are supposed to make sense and be cohesive... I shouldn't make them so late at night.... sigh... hang in there.
