I hate the sound of freaking wind

We're having a major blizzard and it's windy, terribly windy. The sound is driving me bonkers! I need to get up, brush my teeth, put the earplug on and get to bed, damn it!

The weather should be back to normal for Easter, good thing because we are going to pick Easter Water at the waterspring. TFB and SW are picking me up around 4h15 AM sunday morning, we'll go there, then at the 6 AM mass.

Anyway, I hope the freaking noise goes away. I don't wanna lose my mind.

It's Good Friday

I'm going to church this evening. They are doing a station of the cross, I'm in charge of the powerpoint presentation.

We are having another terrible snowstorm at the moment, I mean pretty bad. But I'll still go out because it's Good Friday. I'm watching The Passion of The Christ on DVD before I leave around 18h10.

My cocktail party last night was great. I'll tell you guys more tomorrow or later tonight. I'm making coffee at the moment and finished eating, no meat because it's Good Friday.

I'm thinking of each and every of you. Peace be with you guys.

Slice of life from a snowy Wednesday

I went to Industrial Town this morning to pick up some missing documents for my Tax Return ( I was missing a major one) , then went to few stores with the people I was with. Then home and I called TFB and we worked on some computer issues for 2 hours. I left to go to The Parish's office to pick up some CDs and back home. Tonight, I'm going to the Chrism Mass with TYP. I'll probably go to confession maybe this will bring a sense of relief.

I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning, it's in Bigger Town and I have a 5 to 7 cocktail with the Big Multinational Company's employee (my former employer) so I'm staying there and will get back here after the evening.

I'm feeling good today, lots of energy, positive. It's a wonderful day. I won't do a Thursday Thirteen today because I'm going to mass and it's not in town.

I'll update tomorrow or Friday.

So? here's an update

I'm not very articulate at the moment, I had 2 meetings today, at 17h00 and at 19h00. The second one was the Cemetery Corporation annual meeting and as a member of the church council, I had to be there. I did go to please The Friendly Boss (TFB) and because I'm a new member on said church council and also have lotsa time on my hands.

My weekend? Well Saturday afternoon, The Tall Friend (TTF) and I worked on The Parish's website, right now we have a blog but we also want a website. I had dinner there with the family. That evening, The Young priest convinced forced me to go to some type of theater performance at the local Baptist-evangelist church. The pastor invited him but he didn't wanted to go without a friend. Catholic priest at a baptist-evangelist church, ya know! I was not interested AT ALL, I was very convinced it was going to be boring. But he's my good friend, I like him, I went. I don't really like regular theater, I actually do not like it much. They did the performance on Jesus's last supper, each of the apostle was kinda doing a reflection on his relationship with Jesus. It was a "Believe in Jesus, Accept him, Love him or you'll go to hell" type of speech. But their gospel choir was awesome! I mean awesome! I'm not going to convert to them tho not a chance.

Sunday was palm Sunday, I went to mass at 11h00. TTF and his family attended too, I also saw The Cute Friend and the monkeys and The Retiree and his wife. I cooked and cleaned and bake for the rest for the day.

This morning at 8h05 the plumber came and fixed my bathroom sink. It took 10 minutes.

So the rest of the day I read, relaxed and went to my 2 meetings. I'm now going to go back in bed and read. For the picture of my skirt, I need to have someone take one because my picture sucks and it won't show how pretty it is. I'll try to get one.

Hero of the week...

Nominated for this grand prize, The Tall Friend (TTF) . He's my savior. Here's the story.

Calling around 17h40 today
ME: Hi, how are you? I need your help.

Him: What's going on?

M: My bathroom sink is clogged. This afternoon I went shopping and bought Drano. When I got home, I poured it in the drain like it said. It all drank it. I waited 30 minutes for "big problems"read for fucking big clogs as it said on the bottle and ran the water like instructed and shit it's still clogged. I'm helpless, stuck, S.O.S Can you like??? All of that said in a sad and desperate tone.

H: I'm dropping the kiddos at X at 18h15, I'll be there right after.

M: Thanks :::sighs of relief:::

He comes at said time with some tools and starts to work on my fucking bathroom sink. Tries everything, that G*ddamned thing stays clogged. uggh He worked for 45 minutes to an hour.

I call the maintenance man to tell him he will need to call a plumber, TTF explains what he did and what he thinks the problem is. (Either the sewer from the building or the "vent". Anyway, the maintenance guy said he'd call a plumber for Monday. They don't do NON urgent weekend call. I don't care, the rest is working (toilet, shower, I call use the washer/dryer etc, kitchen sink).

He's my hero, on a Friday night, he save me, he's knows as The Tall Friend AKA The Savior. It's his week to save us with his knowledge. This week The Friendly Boss (TFB) called because he was having electricity problems (I'm not going to tell the story, don't ya worry Mr. ) and TTF fixed it and he saved me today. Now, my maintenance person will NOT cuss at me because someone explained that I have nothing to do with the clog. It's not my fault. He saved them a lot of work and tests.

I owe him one. I dunno what I'll do but I'll do something sweet and nice. Maybe bake something or watch the kiddos or something.

Then, The Seminarian and I went for a two beer and a coffee at The Bistrot. It was a fun and well deserved evening. Got home, showered, answered some emails for The Parish, emailed TFB about my sink story and I'm not posting it.

So I have a new blog category, "Hero of the Week" and for the first week, The Tall Friend gets the award.

PS: I bought a skirt for The Sister's wedding in May. It's black and white and cute. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow. I need to get a top, but it's easier to get a black top than to go back and the skirt is not available anymore. The girls at The Store told me to keep the tags on it and the receipt and return it if I find something else. (I only shop for clothes there) The Sister's instructions are a) A dress or a skirt b) Not be dressed all in white (DUH!!!) and c) Cocktail appropriate as her wedding will be held at 11h00 AM followed with a reception. The Sister is very fashionable, when I'm done with the whole outfit, I'll email her a picture for approval)

Psst guess what i'm doing tomorrow?

First an appt with my hairdresser, haven't been in 5 weeks, my haircut has grown and it's not very stylish. I'm just getting them cut and styled, not colored at all. it's too expensive to do regularly I scheduled my appointment for 1 PM. Then dinner; TYP and I will meet at The Restaurant because we have a Parish finances committee meeting in the evening.

I'm bringing my baby to the meeting in order to take the notes, it's easier to type it all then email everyone the minutes.

This mean I can still sleep in tomorrow. Hurray! BTW today was the first time I received the full amount from my unemployment benefits. 2 weeks ago was a crappy, cut in 5 amount but today, the whole amount. Hurray!

I got the ISkin for my MacBook

I ordered an ISkin for my MacBook as of last Wednesday (From Apple's website) . They shipped it by Purolator an it got here this afternoon. (I paid for regular shipping, could take 6-14 days, it got here in 4 open days, that's just great) I'm kinda happy because it fits well but I didn't thought it was going to be that. I thought it was going to be some sort of giant condom for the whole keyboard and touch pad. But it isn't. I'm glad because it really fits each key. Typing with it is OK, I'll get adjusted soon I'm sure. It's going to protect my keyboard in case of a spillage of some type.

I wish an Apple representative would send me and stuff to try. Ya know, because I love their products. Hint, Hint. And give them free publicity here on my blog.

I went to The Church tonight because The Young Priest (TYP) was doing a presentation of his pilgrimage to the Holy Land. He got back like 8 days ago. The pictures and videos were very interesting... Close to 60 people attended the evening where he gaves us the stories of what he saw and where he visited.

He brought me back a bracelet made of Olive Wood with a beautiful cross that says Jerusalem on it. (He gave it to me last Monday, but I'm showing you now) What ya think? Isn't that pretty?

I took picture for Posterity's sake. That is my hand.

Just had a talk with The Cute Friend

I wanted to check on her and we chatted on the phone for a little while. I was watching Oprah's Big give and thought of her because she loves, loves Oprah. I offered her to watch the monkeys if she and her beloved wanted some time outside of the home. I really love them and spending time with them is a blessing. It's also good to have a friend you trust to watch the kiddos.

I'm watching the show and enjoying it. I cooked and cleaned all freaking day. I scrubbed the bath tub, the bathroom, cleaned and tidied up my closet, did laundry. I'm a good housewife. The guys would be soo happy to hear me say it. They would agree I'm sure. I cook, clean, I'm a good baker, I'm caring, I'm smart etc, I'm just not submissive. I'm stubborn a rebel!

A little samedi update

Samedi is Saturday in French. I stayed home all morning and afternoon because I was waiting for a call from The sister who was at The Parent's home for the weekend but she was busy, shopping for her upcoming wedding so we weren't able to hook up for coffee BUT we talked on the phone.

The Young Priest knocked at my door around 17h10, I was shocked to see him early (he was suppose to pick me up around 18h10) but he needed to use my Internet connection and he showed me pictures from his trip In Holy Land. And we went to mass, he was the one celebrating it. I hadn't been to mass since Ash Wednesday (like a month ago) . It was alright, I lite up a votive candle for Vixen and for SW. The candle is burning on The Virgin Mary's altar (this picture was not taken today but the votive candle I lite was on this altar, it's beautiful?)


After mass, we stopped at the grocery store, I needed to buy some stuff because I had not much to eat at home. I bought veggies for a cabbage soup, meat I'll cook tomorrow and lots of diet coke, because it was on sale. Buy 2 /12 packs, get one free.

I got home, unpacked the grocery, and started my cabbage soup. I had to cut all the veggies and finished the preparation and it started to cook. By the time I'm writing this, the soup is in the fridge ready to be eaten tomorrow. I had 1 2 bowls to taste it and make sure it was good and it's delicious.

I have already changed few clocks because we are switching time during the night.Remember to turn your clocks an hour ahead tonight if your area participates in Daylight Saving Time. It starts earlier now than it used to.

I need to sleep, I'm in a good mood. Tomorrow is going to be peaceful and I'll be cooking and cleaning.

Good grief, I feel like I'm a rebel

Cuz I'm not writing that often and it's not because I don't have time but I've been keeping myself busy with the books. I've also been trying to get out of the house and get up earlier in the morning to feel "normal" again. So I set the alarm in the morning for 9 am weekdays even if I don't have something to do.

I had a long talk with The Friendly Boss (TFB) last night and I need to work on something, I need to work on the way I react to a specific power trippin' person. I only control myself, I can't make the person change, it's just not realistic. I only have control over me. The talk made me feel better, it was helpful, it was an eye opener. I'm going to use my intelligence and my strength to deal with Mr.Power Trippin' (MPT). I'm also going to work on all those little things we discussed and next time I've got to deal with MPT, I'll update you. Psst, I know I'm very vague but even if I have not much respect for MPT, I will not refer to him with a nick name that could make him identifiable.

I needed new shoes for this spring, school and everything and wasn't really willing to pay full price even for Hush Puppies. I got a great great deal on those just because they are from last season, I don't care, the new model looks almost the same. I love, love them. They'll be great everyday shoes and they're chic and cute.

I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow and it's freaking snowing again. Plus The Sister will call me tomorrow, she's at The Parent's house for the weekend, I hope we'll be able to have coffee together. I have not seen her since January 1st, she doesn't live in our area, she is far far away.
