Stories from the PAC dinner..

As you guys know, we had the Parish Anniversary Committee dinner tonight... I didn't drink wink Well, half a glass of cheap wine but nothing more than that...

While we were having our dessert, Former Politician started a speach, a speach like he was doing at every freaking meeting. He's a good man, he's just as his name says, a former politician. Anyway, as he was talking, going nowhere, reharshing stuff that were kinda empty. I cracked the hell up, I mean I was near tears... and my laugh is very contagious and impossible to hide!!! Because of me, SW cracked up, started to laugh and because she was drinking, she choked and started to cough. It took me everything not to pee my pants laughing at the irony of what he was saying and what was really happening. Perspective's everything my friend, when you see things with pink glasses, ya can't expect people to see thing as you do.

He asked me to do a speach, he called me "the directing head of the committee" I wasn't, I was just pretty vocal about my opinions and I was also the secretary of the commitee, nothing more... I refused to do a speech, I only thanked everyone. You know it's better not to say anything that say something cruel or sarcastic. I kept my mouth shut!!!!lol

Anyway, I was sitting with SW, The Tall Friend and his Cute Wife, my dear friend...TFB was on SW's side and AF was on my other side. The Cute Friend stayed at home, she was sick.. The rest were members of the committee...The guy in charge of the finances was there with his wife that I love a lot. We had a nice time overall...

At the end, Young Business man, The Parish priest and The Friendly Boss started to talk business... together, it was like a meeting, we couldn't join them. But I also didn't reallly wanted tomrgreen We catch up on stuff, discussed life and a Christmas project I have...I'd like us to adopt a family, like an angel tree but get together and give a family a cool christmas. I have a family in mind... We talked about it and we'll talk some more...

Good day tomorrow, it's monday, it's always crazy busy at work!!! Tomorrow night, I'm going to TFB and SWs house to finish something for The Parish... Aren't we a devoted bunch? cool

I need to drag my ass to bed, for god's sake, I need to be up in 5 hours.... UGGH!!!!! to my defense, today wasn't the easiest day. I need to go in bed and let go and sleep to be in good shape for my 3rd week at Big Multinational Company. mrgreen

I know I seem patient and I am probably a little bit because I keep on being present in the activities and stuff but there's some great people in The Parish and I owe in my heart a lot to the parish council's members. I will always be ready to help them. Anytime for any reasons...

I also have great friends there... :) Where there is human being, human nature has a big place!!! For better, for worse!!!

What else is needed other than a solid group of friends? You may not have great patients, but you have a heart of gold!

Happy week 3. I never realized the crap behind parish politics.

I think the only thing to do when Former Politician makes a speech is laugh just a little. I don't know him but I'm making an educated guess. It's good for him to have a little reality check sometimes - and I'm certain you're the woman for that, No Nonesense Girl!

I think it's great that you're still involved with your parish. Why not? Parishes don't run themselves.

Julia: I think you are right about Former Politician needing a dose of reality check. Maybe this sunday I gave him a double or triple dose with my laugh. ;)

::shrug::

Football fan: Yeah, lots of behind the scene action... Happy week to you also!!!

Ethan: Thanks XOX :)

What an incredibly lovely idea about adopting a family and giving them a great Christmas. Its great that after three weeks you still like your new job. There is always politics in any parish, its just a given, people are human. Some of us are just better at laughing about it than getting upset by it :)

Hi Vixen,

I'm glad you like the adopting a family idea...I thought about it sunday during the day and told SW about it in the evening, she was in, TBF told me he was in monday. The Young Priest is in, my far away friend is in too. We'll be able to do something nice. :)

I do think it's nice that after 3 weeks I still feel I belong.

I'm also happy to hear that other parishes are like mine, lots of politics and games because the people are human...I agree about laughing at it!!! :)

Have a great week Vixen!!!

We've always adopted a family at my work, which I appreciate. It's kind of fun, actually. I think it's awesome you are doing this. And of course you still help in the Parish-it's a part of your life!!

Boy, it's your third week at the ultramegainternational conglomerate? That means it's my 3rd week at my new job too because we jumped ship about the same time! And I'm hoping to convince the folks at my new job to adopt a family for the holidays. We used to do it at my old job and I always felt that was the real meaning of Christmas!
Glad to hear things are going well at your new job!
