Currently listening to...

Because of you by Kelly Clarkson. Here's the link to the Youtube video. I discovered the song about an hour ago while reading a blog. It is amazingly touching and it just speaks to me. It's at the same time very very sad.

I will not make the same mistakes that you did
I will not let myself cause my heart so much misery
I will not break the way you did
You fell so hard
I've learned the hard way, to never let it get that far

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side
So I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust
Not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid

I lose my way
And it's not too long before you point it out
I cannot cry
Because I know that's weakness in your eyes
I'm forced to fake, a smile, a laugh
Every day of my life
My heart can't possibly break
When it wasn't even whole to start with

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side
So I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust
Not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid

I watched you die
I heard you cry
Every night in your sleep
I was so young
You should have known better than to lean on me
You never thought of anyone else
You just saw your pain
And now I cry
In the middle of the night
For the same damn thing

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side
So I don't get hurt
Because of you
I tried my hardest just to forget everything
Because of you
I don't know how to let anyone else in
Because of you
I'm ashamed of my life because it's empty
Because of you
I am afraid

Because of you
Because of you

Is there or was there a person in your life who made you feel this way? If so, that person deserves a knock on the head... or worse! :o)

Haircut??????

As for this, it's making me think of something I wrote this morning. I'll be posting it at Blue Ribbon Bloggers at some point today, so stop by and check it out.

I like that song... and I also think, 'get over it.' Yes, she's had challenges but she wears then like a badge. They get in the way of everything - made her loose her record contract - etc. Anyway... I hope you feel better soon! :)

I didn't even know who Kelly Clarkson was before last night. Ha Ha HA!!!I'm behind old American news....

Susan: I'll be checking your post. I love the haircut.

Claudia: I don't know the story behind her? She's lost her contract because of what?

I'm actually more than OK today. :)

Is that the one she sings with Reba McIntire? If it is, its a beautiful song. A bit sad and makes me think too hard, but their voices blend together so well.

Happy Friday.

Like you, I'm a little (OK, very) late getting into Kelly Clarkson. But I'm glad I've discovered her, and thanks for telling me about this song.

The Gal:

You and I are both late eh? I'm glad you're glad to have discovered her too. :)

Have a good weekend!

Kelly got in a major fight with Clive Davis who runs her record label. He wanted her to do a couple different songs and she said that she was 25 years old and knew what she was doing. Oops. They release the album, it stinks, and that was that. She's still trying to recover!
